Alright..
I have a 97' LX Sedan.. a few issues: Ever since I can remember, when my a/c runs, a ridiculous rattling comes from under the dash more toward the passenger side. Also, when the a/c is running while idle.. my engine rattles like I'm driving a farm truck.. Is that a problem with the compressor itself? or the Condenser Fan? Speaking of Condenser Fans... My first and second settings on my a/c switch (96-97 dash - 4 point track switch) don't engage the fan, although the condenser kicks on.. the fans dont run... on the higher settings (3 and 4) the fans work fine.. and the a/c snowballs... with the exception of said rattling dash noise.. =/ the switch problem occured after some jackass nerdy kid installed my head unit at Circuit City (I'm lazy... sue me) Also, Suspension questions: Annndd.. yes.. here it comes.. alright.. so, the other day I hit a peice of concrete (a boulder to say the least) on IH-10.. anndd.. cracked a 14'' regular ass rim with regular ass tires... it was a big peice of concrete... some ghetto fuck in a 88 bonneville was "riding slow homie" and swerved right before he hit the mother effer.. thus my tailgating him proved not to be such a bright idea... =/ Annnd.. I hit the fuckin thing.. ehhh.. anyhoo.. So.. instead of buying si rims.. or just factory 14's.. I decided i'd go ahead and buy some black 18's with a chrome lip.. Alright.. opinions are like assholes.. I understand the tech. issues with 18's.. I've had my civic for 3 years.. I'm kinda done with the rice-it-up need for speed outlook.. I respect that shit whole heartedly.. but.. ehh.. if I wanna go fast I'll buy an M3.. ya know? (again... lazy) So the question lies as such: What's the best possible suspension set-up for said situation? I want the best ride/handling for my sedan.. I was thinking about a 1.5'' drop. with sway bars, strut bars (rear and front).. I have some adjustable coilover springs.. I understand the 18's are detrimental to the ride.. but, regardless.. what are some techniques I can use to counter that little factoid? It's a sedan, I'm kinda going for the touring/cruising set-up... not the 0-60, take it to the track set-up.. Good shock suggestions? ALSO, how difficult is the Si 4-wheel disc brake conversion? I'm not scared to drop about 2-4 grand into my suspension.. throw some info at me.. |

Re: A few tech. questions... anyone?
the noise could be coming from the blower motor which is on the passenger side right kick panel just right above the panel .if your handy it's 3 8mm screws in a triangle pattern remove and clean debris from it and a little w-d40 or other lubricant on the spinning shaft if the fan will eliminate the noise.
