how many miles to a entire fuel tank on a Grand Prix
I have a Grand Prix SE...and i just had a new fuel sender put in, and since i never really drove the car alot(only have Permit, soon License.....) i dont know how many miles you can get out a full tank of gas...like does 300-350miles sound right.....or is that pushing it, cause on the tactomider.it says 120ish miles and the gague is reading at 3/4 of a tank left. Appreciate the help

Re: how many miles to a entire fuel tank on a Grand Prix
I get about 20-21 MPG around town in my 99 GT, so 300-350 miles on a tank is very obtainable. I try to keep my tank above 1/4, as running all the time on empty is hard on the fuel pump. I seem to remember your SE has the 3100, so you may do a little better. It all boils down to driving habits.

Re: how many miles to a entire fuel tank on a Grand Prix
I'm about to make a 500 mile trip home in a few days, I'll try to remember to check the fuel mileage and let you know what I get. '00 gtp
I think I've gotten close to 400 miles on 1 tank before. I was way outa town without a single (working anyway) gas station for over 100 miles. But typically, I too try to keep the tank no lower than 1/4 full. |

Re: how many miles to a entire fuel tank on a Grand Prix
I do a lot of city driving and I usually get around 300 miles to a tank. I have a 3.8 series II with 152,000 miles on it.

Re: how many miles to a entire fuel tank on a Grand Prix
I have an SE with the 3100. I left town going across Wyoming and forgot to fill up first with 300 miles already on the last fillup. Upon noticing that I throttled down to 65 and set the cruise control, which really pissed off the natives who were passing me at 90 on a two lane highway. I ended up going 422 miles on 14.3 gallons, still had over two gallons left when i finaly found a gas station in the middle of nowhere.
It was kinda surreal driving through the oil fields of Wyoming, surrounded by oil wells and praying for a gas station soon. |

Re: how many miles to a entire fuel tank on a Grand Prix
450 highway miles (according to odometer)
15.5 gallons of gas used (according to car display) 29mpg I always fill up when it alerts me of low fuel. Which at which point I only manage to get 12.5 gallons in. I believe its suppose to be a 17.5 gallon tank, so I'm guessing I still have 5 gallons left when it says I'm low. |
