Lurker turned poster looking for a referral

I've been reading and gaining valuable repair & maintenance info from this forum for a while, and finally find my needing to ask a question I haven't seen.

My daughter has a '96 Cherokee with the 4.0 in-line 6. I've just learned about the oil filter adaptor seal problem and she is experiencing it. My problem is that she's experiencing it on her way back to college. I've told her to pull off & let it cool down, that as the engine heats up and things expand it will leak some, but if she lets it cool down things will contract and it will 're-seal' and she can get back on the road. She is checking the oil when she stops. So far the leak isn't significant, but it is dripping on the exhaust pipe when it finally does leak, creating quite a bit of frightening smoke.

What all this boils down to (no pun intended) is that I need to find a reputable mechanic in Winston-Salem North Carolina that she can take it to once she gets there. Anyone???

My daughter had the 97 XJ when she went to college also, about 350 miles away in southern california. Unfortunatlely, the only place to send her was the dealer. However, when she got older, the locals were able to advise some place else....so try asking the roomate or other of her associates or parents.
