PILOT 2006 Headlights
The Pilot's projector headlights are interesting but occasionally pose a challenge seeing well while in low beam and going up and down dips in the road. Has anyone found a way to adjust the low beam slightly higher for better visibility without making the high beam hit the moon?
![]() The low beam doesn't reach out very far in its present setting, and I almost hit a deer standing in the middle of the road on a slight hill even though I wasn't travelling very fast. You can't always use the high beam, and it seems too easy to outdrive the low beam range. |

Re: PILOT 2006 Headlights
High beams FTW! No, seriously, maybe try buying some brighter bulbs. That could help it out.

Re: PILOT 2006 Headlights
I had the same problems with my headlights being too dim. I replaced them with some hyper white bulbs and also added a set of fog lamps. After that, I can see into the great beyond.
I spent approximately $30 on the bulbs and $30 on the fog lamps. I was about to purchase the HID kit for the Pilot but figured that it was too much for a Pilot.

Re: PILOT 2006 Headlights
Do you recall specifically which hyper white bulbs you purchased? Is there any problem putting bulbs in the holders that have higher intensity and higher current draw?
Thanks jerry |

Re: PILOT 2006 Headlights
I seriously can't remember what brand of bulb I purchased. All I know is I got them from advanced auto. The one's you'd need would be:
9003/H4 Xenon Hyper White (HID Style) 120W 7000K. The higher the ranking on the Kelvin Scale, the brighter it is but the hotter it gets. I do not see a problem with using higher intensity bulbs in my Pilot. I just need to make sure that I don't go too high of an intensity were my housing can melt. It doesn't affect any electrical components inside the vehicle so power draw isn't a big issue. Depending on the brand (and there's alot out there) you can purchase them between $15.00 to $50.00. Look up the brand Nokya.
