Me and most other people think the singer wiper mod is really stupid, but whatever floats yer boat. Here's a link on how to do it: http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/r...monowiper.html

Sorry man.
I just don't understand why anyone would want to do that mod. 1.) Reduced visibility in the rain/snow puts yourself and other drivers at risk. 2.) Provides absolutely no functional benefit (other than a slight decrease in the cars weight). Some people think it looks cool, and I guess that's why they do it. I don't agree with that, but that's cool. My main objection is the reduced visibility. I don't want some dumbass with one wiper to crash into me because he can't see through the water on his windshield...

Its not going to work right unless you have a sophisticated system to adjust to the movement of the wiper. It's not a good idea and in the rain your wiping will suck. Plus it looks sort of dumb, it's a Civic, not a Diablo.

You don't need any sophisticated system. You just remove the drivers side wiper, and then, adjust the pass. side one so that it sticks up at like a 45 deg. angle...

...if you're going to do it, this is the 'best' way to do it... the typical way is to totally remove the driver's side arm....loosen up the passenger side arm a bit and move it up....it takes some trial and error to get the sweep to be centered in the windshield. I had this done way back in the day definitely sucks in heavy rain though. here's my opinion (not that anyone asked for it )..wipers are ugly..why draw more attention to them? if anything...totally take em off and throw em in the hatch. get some wingnuts that fit so you'll be able to take em on/off quickly in the rain good luck with whatever you do though..

<------------I did it
of course I did it on a dare and when I paint my wiper arms it'll be back to normal but I like sporting my rice for a while, besides that, my civic isn't on the road LOL.that has to be the best no-dollar mod. It works best on some hatchs though like my old Mazda 323, before I broke the windows out I had planned on taking it on the road with the uniwiper and I had it looking and working pretty sweet. |

I wonder if you can replace the wiper mechanism from another car that has a one wiper system. My single wiper on my Mercedes works wonders, one giant sweep and its all clear. Maybe one from a junked 190E would work...But I agree w/ Marked001...Keep em in the hatch, use a wing nut or Take em off in the Summertime and replace em in the Winter.

go ahead and do it to try something new out, who cares whether its rice or not? just open the hood, unscrew the two black bolts connecting your blades to the body, tilt the wiper up like when you wash your car and they just come off... take off the drivers side wiper and reposition the middle one. If you want you can also get a longer wiper blade to cover more area of the window!

I did it a while ago and kind of liked it, but I think it looks way better on a black car like mdnnccivicrcr's. I ended up doing the no wiper conversion for a while.
It is more of a show mod than being practical though, cause it does not wipe nearly as well as both of em. But since I am going to import revolution later today, i think I will have to sport the uniwiper, and bust out my mad bling bling.
