Goodyear Comfort Treds

Have a 2005 base W/Auto. Great little car. Gets a consistent 35-38 highway at a steady 65 MPH with 13K miles.

Am considering dumping the junk Continentals for a set of Goodyear comfort treds. Has anyone tried them on this car?

Am also thinking the ride might improve slightly more if I go to 205/60-16 versus the stock 205/55-16.

The outside diameter on the 205/60-16 is very close to the optional 215-50/17. With the extra .8" diameter I see no clearance problems.

Has anyone done either of the 2 mentioned changes?

Thanks for any feedback.

Re: Goodyear Comfort Treds

I just put those tires on mine about 3-4 months ago; the contintentals were balded out by 30K. I'm very happy with the ride and performance and they are much quieter. I stuck with the 205/55/16 size.

Re: Goodyear Comfort Treds

Did the oversize Good Year swap mentioned in my first post. After about 10K miles the difference seen, heard and felt is night and day.

Fuel mileage is unchanged, per the odometer, so a 3% gain was also achieved beside comfort and sound.
