first time at track! here is the result!!

i went to byron dragway with chicagoland mustang club against chicagoland srt-4 club.

well this was my first time in my life at a track and at my first run, i bogged the car and did a bad 60' time which is 2.13 and ran 14.1 at 99.8 mph. i saw those other stang GTs were running 14.2-3-4 and i was very happy with my first run i beat their times..

then i lowered my tire pressure a little and lined up against a modified stage 2 srt-4 and light turns green and i jumped on him pretty good and DAMN!! i missed 4th gear but still ran 13.6 BONE STOCK and DID 1.91 60' time.. if i wouldnt have missed a gear, i would be definetely 13.4s stone stock..

06 GTO couldnt dig into 13s for about 3 runs and finally we lined up and i sucked at launch and i did 2.54 crappy 60' time and he ran 13.8 and i ran 14.5 which was my fault.. and that was it.. people couldnt believe me when i said i ran mid 13s stone stock on stock tires.. nobodyelse dig in mid 13s but me at ttrack with stock new stang GT! i was proud of myself

i will scan slips and post here.. now i am pretty busy..

i think with a stone stock new stang GT and it was my fiirst time evert at track and i ran 13.6 was impressive!

That is impressive, especially for grabbing your own gears. Good job. Practice makes perfect, just keep going out there or on the road and work on launching and shifting and you'll get consistent.

Congrats man!!!!

It isn't as bad as it would seem is it??
All that matters is that you had a good time!!!

A 1.91 60 foot is damn near as good as my best on those Nitto DR's. Impressive. Very impressive.
It will only get better for you Erdal.

You have the bug now.

Good luck staying away from the track.

damn right!! Curtis, i really really thought these new stangs were slow cars untill today!!!!! NOWAY these cars are slow! if you can drive these cars are low 13s caars with a good sticky drag radials / slicks! next time i go to track, i will get slicks and i am HOPING to dig in low 13s bone stock.. just need a better 60' and i am there.. i cant believe i beat 06 GTO and even stock trans ams time.. it was over 80 dgrees and 87% humudity.. also a guy had modifed 03 stang GT with slicks and he ran 13.7 or something the best and he couldnt believe i ran 13.6 stock.. i need to go to track again soon

Re: first time at track! here is the result!!

WOW GUYS!!! i just found out byron dragway is 2500 ft. above the sea level and i ran 13.6 with missing a gear!!! damn!! people say if you translate that to sea level and if i would have missed gear, my run would have been clos to flat 13 or very low 13s.. is this me or my car is factory freak...

Easily could be a factory freak.

Your 60' time did it for you though. 1.9 with a stock car....very impressive.

BTW...Altitude: 756' ASL (above sea level)
2500 was probably the density altitude.
