89 Ranger, Problems

Hi All. It's quite chilly and damp here today. So I was going to go uptown and do some shopping. Anyways, I Started up the ranger to warm up, it was running fine very smooth as usual, let it idle for 10 mins or so to warm up nice inside. ANyways went to take off, it was fine. Stopped to pick up my girlfriend, left it running went in to get her and back out to the truck, it is running extremely rough!!! No power at all. Checked oil, its good. checked all the wires on the distrubutors (Dual plug engine 2.3L) there fine. I did put a new fuel filter on about 2 weeks ago, that just made it run better until now its running like its going to die, no power, i have to give it alot of gas when taking off in first gear. What would cause that?? I'm thinking something got wet. Please and thanks in advance for the help
