dead battery?
My 91 corolla won't start. You turn the key and all there is is a click. No start. The starter doesn't do anything and the solenoid doesn't either. After a few turns like 5 - 10 turns of the key it comes on. Anyone know what might be wrong? Is the battery going dead? I do have subs hooked up I thought maybe they were draining the battery too much. Or is it the starter going out? Any ideas?

Re: dead battery?
Do your accessories come on? If they dont then check the ground to the battery. You may want to get both your battery and alternator checked. A place like Autozone will do it for free.

Re: dead battery?
Everything will come on. The lights will dim when its starting though. I can turn the dome light on in the car and when it does start, or when it doesn't, the dome light dims while the car is cranking aand then it comes on and the lights go back to normal.

Re: dead battery?
The starter maybe binding. Check to make sure all the connections to the starter are clean and secure.

Re: dead battery?
Your lights may be dimming just from current flow through the starter relay. Most likely, you need to replace the solenoid contacts. This is a known problem with Toyota starters. Search in the FAQ thread. Post #2.
