Angry 2002 Venture wont Start!

My van wont start. I put the key in the ingintion and it doesn't turn over. I do have some lights and radio. Most of the electrical accessories but not all are not working. What can this be? I can't even arm or lock my van with the remote.

Start by checking ALL of the fuses. It sounds as if you may have blown one. Also, is the security light on or flashing when you try to start it?

What kind of alarm do you have? Was it installed by the factory or not? If not I'd bet its a problem with how it was installed and the security feature isn't working....just my 2 cents though. Those alarms installed by the major electronic stores are never put in correctly.

No, he never stated he had an alarm and even if he did, just having one doesn't always mean that's the problem. Too many people that can't find the obvious seem to like to blame the aftermarket stuff. Also, even though big box stores tend to have their fare share of shotty work, they do tend to have good workers too.

Anyway, when I mentioned about an alarm I was talking about the OEM PK3 (passkey 3) system which is an embedded coded key that the BCM needs to read before allowing the car to start.

The original poster is talking or "arming" his car...to me that is talk of an alarm. If it isn't I just misunderstood. I understood your statement of the security light and took it as 2 different statements.

I'm not saying that all "big box" stores have shotty workers, but maybe the process is shotty. You'll never convince me that cutting wires out of a factory installed wire harness is a good idea. No matter how much soder you do or don't use. There is just too much chance for problems especially when dealing with disabling crutial parts of the car such as the starter...
