928 - costwise?

I am interested in purchasing a porsche 928, however I am scared by everything relating to their high maintenance cost. I read a reply in the last thread stating that you must expect to put a few thousand into one each year. Is this roughly accurate? How much does high mileage affect the reliability of the car (~180,000)? I do not have a large budget at all, but can afford to put most my money into the car. Also, after some point, if the majority of old parts are replaced, will the cost of upkeep not decrease? I really just want to know what I'm in for if I do purchase one of these cars.
