1992 MGM a/c cycles when heat is on

As said in the topic, my A/C cycles when my heat is on. It still blows out heat, but its kinda annoying hearing it constantly clicking on and off. Right now, i have the compressor unplugged, so it dont come on, but i would rather fix it right. Any ideas?

Re: 1992 MGM a/c cycles when heat is on

Actually this is proper operation for these vehicles, the AC runs intermitently to remove the moisture from the air so that it will clear the windows from being fogged up faster.

I don't know how long you have had the vehicle, but due to the age and wear it may be noisier than it originally was but it has always cycled when the heater is on.

You did not really specify exactly what heat you had on. It is nornal for the AC to run only if you have the defrost switch on. If it doesn't your windows can fog terribly when you turn on the defrost.
