Nelson Tune

I was just wondering how long and what did it take to install this? After all the good stuff I've heard about it I want it for my truck and was just wondering how long and what you have to do to install it.

Re: Nelson Tune

It's pretty simple to install: disconntect the ground from the battery, pop the cover off the PCM, unbolt the cable, bolt the cable to the new PCM, put the cover back on, reconnect the battery. I can do it in ~5 minutes, but I've done it a few times. Expect maybe 15 minutes your first time

Definitely worth it.

Re: Nelson Tune

Just wondering what program did you get 87-89, 91-93. Also how much did it help you in like the 1/4 mile. Also did it affect your everyday driving and gas milage?

I got the 87/89. I've never run it in the 1/4 (or anything, for that matter)

MPG improved by 2 (I went from 12/17 to 14/19). It really made it much more pleasurable to drive. Allen does things to it other than making it faster, like turning "abuse mode" off on the tranny and minimizing the tranny downshift delay.

Re: Nelson Tune

I have also read a few thing about this Nelson. I was wondering about how much it costs, how long it takes? Also does he make one for the Duramax motor? I am thinking of getting a duramax next spring.
