S2000 engine in an Integra

alright, my friend has found a wrecked S2000 for 6,000 and we were talkin ya know, and we want to take the engine and tranny, driveshaft, diffrential, ya know all of that and we want to put it on an Integra, first of all would this be possible??, i think it would be and second would it be a good idea, cuz i mean i love the 6 speed manual, and he needs to leard to drive a stick yet, but he also said he wants a unique teg so i figured ya know, this would make it very unique, i have also posted this in the S2000 forum for others to look at, please post your opinion about it!!

you might as well rebuild the s2000. An integra is a FWD car, an s2000 is a RWD car. The engines don't mount the same way...By the time you spend all your money modifying the chassis of the integra to be a RWD, you could have rebuilt the s2000 body and have an S2000!

i agree... if your gonna buy the s2k engine, if there's nothing wrong with it, just rebuild the s2k, it's a much better car and as long as the engine works, the rest can be taken care of peice by peice if need be, and for 6k .. it's worth it..

i kind of agree, i'd rather have the S2000, but he wants a unique car, and he loves the integra and we have a body kit that is pretty sweet on it. and up here in iowa, a convertible s2000 wont go through the winter too good probably. but yes, before doing all this i would make sure that it would all fit without any major changes. i still like the idea and think that it's possible but i doubt it will ever happen, i mean really, if its possible, would it be a cool car or what?!?

the engine would is technically possible, it just all depends on the amount of time and money u want to spend on it. If your buddy is hell bent on having a unique integra with an s2k engine... go for it. i would love to see some pics. IMO, you could have an equally if not more unique car by rebuilding the s2k and doin some creative body mods like converting it into a hardtop or something like that. it would probably be just as much work either way.

it's near impossible to do.

The problem is, the S2000 motor mounts are in awkward locations, and with the mods or adjustments you would have to make to the integra to get it to fit, it may not stay put safely.

The s2000 engine also spins the OPPOSITE direction of the integra engine. the S2000 engine also sits in the car the long way, (perpendicular to the axle) rather than the traditional way. You'd also have to convert your integra to RWD since you would have to use the S2000 engine AND drivetrain, because of the way the engine sits and has to hook up to the drivetrain. It would NOT work with a FWD configuration.

The swap is near impossible and would probably cost almost as much as an S2000 itself.
