Hey, it never hurts to ask. If someone has a CARFAX available, why not save the 24.95? Makes perfect sense.

I don't currently have any active CARFAX.

Please enlighten us. Last time I signed up for CARFAX reports, there was no limit on how many vehicles you could check in the month, nor was there any stipulation as to whom you could check the vehicles for.

Aside from the person you get the report for being unhappy about it, what legality issues are you speaking of?

Last time I used carfax, I remember reading in the agreement that you could only do it for yourself, and could definitely not charge for it. So unless you would like to provide the money for me to use carfax again and see what the agreement says, I can't quote it for you.

Granted, the only way which you would have trouble is if carfax sues you, which they are not going to do, but it is a moral issue to think about.

Ah, so. Thanks. Well to be honest it's been quite awhile since I used the service so they've obviously updated their user agreement since then.

why would you do a carfax on your own car, once it's yours. i thought that point of carfax was the check the history of a car you were going to buy. you can't do much with the info you get after you've bought it.
