ticking noise after shutting engine off

MY 1995 civic dx makes a steady ticking noise coming from the enginne when I shut it off after driving for a while. Does anyone have any idea what this is and if it is a serious problem?

yea this is the metal cooling down. its liek a tinging nosie right. its jsut metal contracting ot expanding under the heat or coolness of everything. its seriously not a big deal all cars do this.

not a problem. seriously the only noise i would ever wor kabout is when the car is on or drivign down the road. thats when you got a problem. other wise nothig ncan really happen while it sits.

On Hondas most of the cool down noise comes from the cheap heat sheilds. Like everyone else said, "Nothing to worry about".
