06 Silverado Options

Just drove home a new 06 Silverado LT Crewcab last night and have a few questions since I can't seem to find a decent source for aftermarket goodies. Luckily I managed to work the rims and tires I wanted into the deal.

What kind of exhaust system should I be looking at? I definately want a dual exhaust syetem that exits past the tow package. All I've ever known is a set of glasspacks, a pipe bender and a little gassless MIG to get what I wanted from my older trucks, but now I have to worry about warranty stuff, so want to find a good system that sounds aggressive, purrs at idle, etc. Any suggestions on the best sounding system out there? My rule of thumb on my 92's and older was always chop the cats, 3" pipe and 18" glasspacks... don't think that's going to work here! Can I just trust a local shop with a Flowmaster 40 muffler to pick the right sized pipe?

How about grill guards? Seems that I can only find 3 styles online and they all suck. All I can find are the little nerf bars that barely reach the headlights. I've always loved the old Dukes of Hazard push bar style without the brush guards, but thinking that's not an option at all.

I'm definately interested in a lift kit as well. We put 18" rims with 285 70's on it, so they're pretty wide. I'm thinking a modest 4" lift would look the best, but it's been hard to shop with kits ranging in price from the scams at $350 and the overkill at $2000. What's going to be best in maintaining the stock ride but still lift the truck?

I'd appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks in advance

Re: 06 Silverado Options

Raising the vehicle will likely void your powertrain warranty. Unless you can maintain the driveshaft angle at both ends, maintain the control arm and tie rod angles, and keep the snubbers at the original distance from the limits of suspension travel, any axle, transfer case/transmission, or suspension problems you have will probably be your own problem, with no warranty support.

If warranty is a concern, you might ask your dealer service department about what options you may have.
