Clutch Slip

I was wondering what you guys launch at with your gst's?

If I start on first really slow, and go up to 4K floring it my wheels start just burning out. If I go 3k and launch my wheels burn out.

My car was women driven before I got it, and im thinking she fucked the clutch. Whatchu guys think?

Re: Clutch Slip

As far as I know the clutch is suppose to slip when you accelerate, its not suppose to start pealing out at 4k.

Re: Clutch Slip

The clutch is only suppose to slip when the clutch pedal isin't fully released. If your clutch slips when its fully engaged then its fucked. It seems like you dont know how to launch your car correctly. If you get alot of wheel spin then maybe you should get some better tires or stay off the gas some.

Re: Clutch Slip

Your clutch is fine. Its not supposed to slip at all, thats when you know you have a problem. I know a guy with an SRT4 and he still squacks them pretty good at the track when he launches at like 2500.

Re: Clutch Slip

Hmmm... This is a rather interesting thread. Oh well, what the heck, why not get in on the fun...

I can safely launch my Talon as 6k RPM with absolutly no clutch slippage and very minimal wheel spin...

I will forever love my AWD launches.

Re: Clutch Slip

lol you dont like to spin the tires, then slip the cluch on a launch, you dont like to slip the cluch, then spin the tires, you dont like either, then why didnt you buy a gsx in the first place? Just dont race... saves lots of trouble... lol *wish i could take my own advice...*

Re: Clutch Slip

Ahhh, feels good to drive a AWD and never worry about traction. Man, I sure dont regret buying a AWD . I spin my moms 2.0L Jetta 120hp wheels at 3K, so I can image what a GST would do hehehe, learn to slip the clutch and try to lauch with minimal wheel spin. Feel the car, I sure feel mine when I launch it at 5500k .
