Potential HUGE HP gains...

I just installed an APEXi S-AFC II on my Pathfinder.. Yeah yeah i know, why would anyone do that? well, i've already added a Stillen air intake, and flowmaster catback exhaust. This is the next step, the ECU override. But i have no clue as to what settings would apply to the 3.5 V6 DOHC engine it's running on. Does ANYbody have any idea what settings will yield the most HP/best performance??? If not, then where can i find this out?

Oh P.S. ... DYNO places here on Long Island cost about 500 per session, so thats outta the question.

Re: Potential HUGE HP gains...

How did you think you were going to tune it without using a dyno? Thats just about the only way to get record data that you can adjust the AFC with. Without it the AFC is useless. There is no general setting that will increase your performance. The whole idea behind a stand alone AFC is that you can adjust it to meet your individual vehicle's needs.

Honestly with your extremely mild upgrading thus far, I don't really see you getting much more than 10-20 hp from the AFC even with a dyno tuning. You'd probably be better off doing mid-pipes or headers or whatever it is that the 350Z guys do to their VQ motors after an intake and cat-back exhaust.

As for now, I'd just suggest finding someplace outside of Long Island that doesn't charge as much.

Re: Potential HUGE HP gains...

^^ Agreed. Playing with settings without a Dyno will often result in a blown motor unless you have a wide band AFR meter in your car(which I doubt, cause they are expensive)

$500 an hour is a rip off, find someone who won't make you pay through the nose...

Get some more mods done before you get it tuned or you will need to get it tuned again once they are done.
