Coolant flush Regal 2001
Hello All,
Have a problem with flushing the coolant from my Buick Regal LS 2001, which has the series II 3.8 v6. Was wondering if someone could tell me what i have to do. From what i gather, i have to do the following: 1) With engine cold remove radiator cap 2) Remove engine block drains, to do this remove knock sensor from each side of the engine block (which i can't find) 3) Open air bleed vents on thermostat housing 4) Open radiator plug and drian coolant 5) Remove resivior and clean 6) Place garden hose at top pf radiater filler and flush Could someone tell me if the above is correct and complete? Also, any idea what the "knock sensor" looks like, i can't find it. Please reply to this newsgroup or email direcly at [email protected] Alternativeley, can anyone recommend someone prefrabaly an enthuisast to take a look at a number of things for me. Any help. much appriacted. Thanks, Mike |

Re: Coolant flush Regal 2001
Welcome to AF.
You have a lot of steps missing. And I would not waste any time or effort with draining the engine block. Here is an old post below at link covering coolant flushing in a Regal with SII 3800. It works and written up by an enthusiast. Good luck. Click here
