1966 mustang

im looking at a 1966 ford mustang for sale
only problem is the transmission is not hookd up (its a automatic)
and i have know idea what this would involve. anyone help?

Could mean that the shift or kickdown linkage is not connected.
Could mean that the drive shaft is removed.
Could mean the trans is not bolted to the engine.
Might even mean the trans is broken and needs to be rebuilt.
Ask whoever said or wrote that the trans is not hooked up what they mean.
Then you can evaluate your belief of the accuracy of what they say.
