Question to buy an 85 325e?

Hi all,
I posted this in the 3-series section, but I was hoping to get some more feedback. I have the opportunity to buy an 85 325e for about $1500. I personally haven't seen the car yet, but my dad works with the guy selling it. It's red w/ black interior. My dad says that it looks like the body is in pretty good shape-very little/no rust. However, there are a few things wrong with it. There is a slight tear in the driver's seat, the radio doesn't work and neither does the AC. Also, the driver's side window does not roll down (thinking it's the switch). Also, the windshield wipers stay up instead of going back down after turning them off.
By themselves, these are all pretty minor problems, but with all of them it seems like a lot to have to fix right away. Part of my decision comes from the repair costs for all of this. The guy had the battery go dead a while back and he told my dad that the radio hasn't to be reset because of this (not sure about this).
Right now, I have an 84 Ford Mustang that isn't in the best shape but still runs pretty well. If I get rid of this car, I want to make sure that I'll be getting something better and worth while.
Sorry for the long post. I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions you might have.
Thanks

You probably have to get a good look at it youself. Take it for a spin. My AC cost $400 to fix (new condensor, retro-fited to 134-a). Talk the seller down to $1000 by telling them the AC might need to be replaced.

I say: buy it! Great car, very solid. Was driving that for years and years in Germany. If you take a little care of it, it will definitely treat you well. Funny you write about the power window being locked, I had the same problem 8-) A little weakness I guess. But don't forget, they are 20 years old now and run hell of a lot better and more stable than most American cars. A German car over any American at any time. Invest some money and I am sure you'll be happy with it. Try not to push it too much into speeds higher than 130 km/h and there should be no problem. (And don't forget: People with Beemers have the most sex!)
