Smoke rolling...'91 deville

not everytime but sometimes when i go to park smoke starts rolling from my hood for about 5 seconds, but it is quite a bit of smoke, and embarrassing lol so yea any ideas on what it could be...only thing i can think of is maybe a problem with the power steering

It could be almost anything based on the description of the problem. When it does it you're going to have to open the hood and look.

Definately not enough details. Could be an oil leak. Tell us where the smoke seems to be coming from to the best of your knowlage. Maybe even a picture would help too.

Most likely it's an oil leak, probably from a bad valve cover gasket. And it's dripping onto the exhaust, burning, and causing the smoke. But you really need to find where the leak is coming from to stop it.

well like whenever it happens i dont have enough time to jump out and check so im thinkin the oil leak could be plausible

apparently my friend said it was oil from the engine leaking but it only smokes whenever i do a sharp turn to park..so im not sure what it could be

Assume as many of the people on the list: either exhaust pipe is not connected well to the engine and lets the smock to get out till the entire exhaust system will not get hot enough to create the air flow...,or the oil leak wich is dripping directly on the exhaust system - which is pretty hot (as you know) and sometimes can even cause the fire, so be very careful and check yourself to fix the problem - if unable to do go to the mechanic's shop to get read of the leak or bad exhaust connection.

if it only does it when you turn the wheel and parking its prolly the valve in your power steering line
