Two little things

Ok, got two things I need a little help/suggestion on. First, there's a squeak comin from the back passenger tire area, but it's not a brake squeak, it is consistent with the wheels turning but braking doesn't affect the noise whatsoever. And the number two is just a suggestion needed. I have a screen I need to mount, and I would like to mount it in the front passenger area. However, I have to mount it in a way that I can disconnect it and stow it in the glovebox while the car is parked (it is powered and receives picture from a DVD player under my seat, connected with an S-vid type cable) so as not to attract *attention* to my vehicle while it sits unattended. Any help on both these issues would be appreciated.

Re: Two little things

Yeah, I don't know if it's maybe just a new set that was put on before I bought it and they're squeakin some before the pads wear in, or if it may be a bearing that needs re-packed. It hasn't posed any problems or prompted a major eyebrow-raising, but I may put it on a lift and check it out this weekend.

So are you asking how to mount it in the car?? Would you be willing to drill holes into the dash?? If so then my suggestion would be to buy a bracket or have one made so that it can be attached to the dash and then when you want to take it out you can just remove it from the bracket and put it wherever you want.

Re: Two little things

Is it a braking squeak or a suspension squeak? If it does it when you goe over bumps or stuff like that then it's probly your shocks/struts.

Re: Two little things

Well, I'm trying to avoid having to drill holes in the dash if I can. And it's not a shock/strut squeak, it's only when rolling, bumps and braking do not affect the pitch, rhythm, or speed. For the screen, I was thinking of trying to find a way to mount it without screws, but not have any eyesores when the screen is not mounted or in use.

Re: Two little things

The velcro thought occured to me, I guess to make it blend I could try to find a color-match with the dash material. I may end up goin with that, but I'm still rackin my brain to see if I can come up with something that'll work out to my liking. For the flip out, there's one barrier: Uncle Sam don't pay me much right now.
