Transmission Part Help

Hi!
I own a 2001 SL1 - it has about 109 K miles, and I bought it used a year ago. A couple of weeks ago, the transmission started bucking when it was in a lower gear, usually when changing between first and second.
I took the car in to the Saturn Dealership, and was told that one of the problems was a faulty transmission bus. plate. Has anyone ever heard of one of these things? I have been unable to find it listed at Advanced Auto or NAPA websites, and my father and I are trying to fix the car ourselves, as the labor charge is a bit pricey.
Further, is it safe to drive the car for 2-3 more weeks until I can get this part?

Thanks!

teri

Re: Transmission Part Help

It sounds like a automatic.
Manuals do not typically buck when shifting gears, unless you are a newb
