i had a similar issue on my 94 pgt where it wouldnt open at times and when it did pop up it wouldnt go down. it could be that the headlamp motor maybee dying. or in your case since it wont pop up, check to see if the arm is still attached to the ball joints on the headlamp and the headlamp motor itself. you gonna have to finger your car to get to it by sticking your hand up underneath the fender toward the lamp. or if you have a floor jack, then lift the car up to see if the arm is still attached. i can take pics if needed

Re: 94 Probe GT Headlights will not open

The headlight motors do work. When i take the manual knob turn it counter clockwise and the lights will go up and then back down. So the motors do work. I suspect maybe a shorted wire. Anybody whouldent happen to have a 94PGT headlight wire diagram would you. Thanks

Re: 94 Probe GT Headlights will not open

I have the full shop cd for 94. The headlight relay is in the main fuse box under the hood. Check there.

However it is likely that some of the teeth on the motor are so warn that when spinning at the higher speeds your elec. motor makes they slip. Causing your lights not to go up as they are going against gravity here.

If you can hear the motors respond then I would say its not the fuse or relay. However if your lights just turn on and they are in the down position have you had a car alarm installed recently? If so did you have the car armed and try to turn the lights on? Its very easy for the switch on the steering wheel to be shorted out because of the wiring being done wrong. I went through 3 switches before they figured it out.

Good luck and if you want that cd cover shipping and I will make u a copy.
