After I've driven my car for about 15 minutes, the fan comes on and it is very loud. Im considering getting an electric Trimline fan to get rid of that noise (and a lot more cooling power).

The revs drop a little slower than usual when the fan is on(because the crankshaft is powering the fan). I think the revs drop slowly in general too. Gotta get me a lighter flywheel.

electric fan is a must, haven't gotten mine yet cause i got debts right now.
the stock fan is connected to the engine via a fan clutch, it takes anywhere from 5 to 15 hp to run that thing. mine is very loud too, and like u said after 15 minutes it comes on the reason being when your engine heats up to a certain temperature (187 degrees i beleive on the stock fan clutch, mine is 175 degrees cause i had to replace it and got a lower temperature one) the fan clutch heats up and engages, i can tell when it does i lose power and u can hear it. witht eh stock fan like that it also wears on your water pump too.
as far as the rev issue, i think that's just teh way they are.

you got any links besides 240.org for step by step or just parts needed to install a electric fan?

most parts stores have electric fans, my local kragen has this slimline fan for $200 that's pretty good, u want a dual fan, it will come with a thermostat and pretty much all u need, it's really easy
