dash replacement
I have a 2000 GP with the full EQ CD stereo, 1.5 din.
Was there a stereo option without the EQ that made it only 1 din? And if so, could I get the dash from GM? Or any ideas how much it'd cost to have a custom dash fabricated to house a 1 din stereo and to flatten out those bubbled air vents above it? I have the proper mounting kit, but the extra space around the HU just looks too ugly to me.

GM has used the 1.5 din opening since the 80's, and switched to a double din opening on most 04-up passenger cars. GM has never used a single din nor do I know of a radio adaptor kit that fits flush in the recessed opening in the 97-03 GP's.
