battery drain

ok here goes...I have a 1995 3.4 camaro with 33k miles it is a good weather car and last fall I put in a new battery ....I start it every week to keep the battery up.....in august the battery was dead.....I put a slow charger on it and it started ok but I noticed the charging light on in the dash ....I tested the alt output and it was low so I replaced the alternator at the same time they gave me a new battery since it was less than a year old....I went on vacation and drove the car every day for a week after 2 days of non use the battery was dead I recharged the battery and the alt output is ok.....I ran the car for a couple of days and then disconnected the battery for a week and and then reconnected it and it started ok then I let it sit for 2 days connected and something is draining the battery because it was dead....any thoughts?????

Re: battery drain

Unhook the ground cable from the battery. Connect a test light in between the ground cable and the neg post on the battery. The test light should illuminate. Now start pulling fuses one at a time until the test light dims. The manual or fuse cover should say what circuits that fuse protects. Now you have a general idea where to look..

Re: battery drain

Here's the only diagram I could dig up on that circuit:

Just out of curiosity, try unplugging the connector for the alternator with the test light hooked up the same way, it may have something to do with it but I'm not positive..
