1994 OLDS 88 - Starting Problems
Hi I have an 1994 Old 88, 3.8 Motor. The car runs fine and has no problems except for periodically it will not start. When it happens it has no spark at the plugs. It seems worse on hot days. If I let it cool down for 20 minutes or so it will always start. When checking codes it shows numerous codes which do not seem to have any rime or reason. Where do I go from here? Thank You

Re: 1994 OLDS 88 - Starting Problems
Welcome to AF, the numerous codes are? Your symptoms are typical of a bad crank sensor or ign module or wiring from the cps to the icm.

I agree with Maxwedge, Crank Position Sensor (CPS) a common problem. You have to pull the harmonic Balancer to get to it. The sensor is about $35.
