headliner replacement help
I have a '96 Metro, 4 dr with the common headliner sag. I've learned that i'll need to remove the existing headliner, scrub off the foam backing and apply replacement fabric using a good quality contact adhesive and then reinstall.
Questions: how does the headliner come out of the car? Does a seat or a front door have to be removed to get it out in one piece? Also, any recommendaions as to the contact adhesive to use? I'm familiar with spray 77, but I'm not sure this will work well or not. Comments? |

Re: headliner replacement help
I just recently did my metro. To get it out I folded down the back seat and took it out of the trunk. That was the easiest way for me. and to hold the cloth on I used the 3M spray adhesive from home depot for about $10 a can and I used almost 2 cans to be safe. Hope this helps.
