What are your questions?

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer?

Re: 2005 corolla :does anyone have instlation instructions for fog lights

I bought a fog light kit on ebay without any installation instructions and wanted to figure out how to install them- mainly I wanted to make them work only when the tail lights are on. and I wanted to do it the way the factory ones hook up, I bought a headlight switch that includes a switch for fog lights on car-part.com for $55, I got a copy of fog light diagramm from a dealer, It was helpful but, I still could not get any signal out of daylight runnig relay(or what ever you call it- I dont have it in front of me) So I had a friend do it. For $30 he hooked it up to where the wire that trips the relay for fog lights feed off tail lights, then run it through the switch I bought and cut the wires that go to the existing (factory) wiring , and the reason is , he told me is "the aftermarket system uses positive to go through relay, buy facrory uses negative signal and positive is hooked up permanently" So in order not to inrerfere with factory setup and in order not to mess up daylight relay - he cut the wires. I think that it is the best way of doing it. If anyone disagrees -let me know.

Just curious. Why bother installing "puddle lights" in the 1st place?

I don't realy know - You can probably ask any dealer about this, but I think that when you're driving through thick fog- you turn your headlights off and fog lights on and that makes it easyer to see the road. you see I bought this car when it was smashed in front and fixed it up and when I faced the situation where I had to buy plastic inserts that go into the bumper to cover the holes for fog lights- I thought to myself : why not just buy some fog lights on ebay and put in there...

What, you're going to use them as they were designed to be used????
Most poeple just have them on all the time to bother other people. Almost all trhe roads I drive on these days have lighting, so really even the headlights are redundant....
When I put high quality driving lights on previous cars, (I used to live in the country, dark roads), I just put a heavy duty switch switch someplace convenient. (1 car I attached the switch to the parking brake), and ran wiring from the battery, to a fuse, to the switch, to the lights, which I grounded. Worked fine for as long as I had that car. And it didn't interfere with anything, so no future funny faults to show up, and easy to dismantle when you sell.
