Extreme Help please 1990 RS Camaro

I just purcahased this car 305 TBI, I have 1 just like it, the previous owner. Put another steering column into the car, which is the version that doesn't check the resistor on the key, but car VATS is setup to check the key resistor. I don't have the original key. Only the key for the current column.
I'm really stumped on what i should do. i read several articles about bypassing it, but you need the original key to know the resistance.

The secuirty light is on, Fuel pump comes on, Starter just won't turn on. It's brand new, any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

go get the vin number of the car, take it to a chevy dealer and then eithier ask them for a key or ask them for the resistance on the key.. they'll know.
