84 Power Wagon with no spark???

Hello

I have a 84 power wagon (5.9 one ton)that doesn't have any spark. It has electronic igition. Any one out there have any knowledge about this ignition? I just bought the truck. I got it running, and then shut it off. It wouldn't restart. I've tried a new coil and a new pickup coil in the dis. Still no spark.

You just got it running? What did you have to do to get it running in the first place?

howabout checking your timing between the crank and distributor? i know a long shot, but i had a 79 d150 that would do the same thing sometimes. come to find out the timing chain was stretched and if it was out of time enough when i last shut it off, it wouldn't start. also, the coil... i know ya said it was new, but i had put a new coil in mine and it wouldn't put out a big enuf spark sometimes and cause the same problem. i had to try another before it would work consistently. my $.02, make sure it works on another vehicle if ya can or get it tested and make sure it works. just a thought.

To get it running, I put a battery in it and pulled it. I had it start with the starter, but the starter got stuck in the flywheel.

I got a manual for it. I went through the testing steps and it seems to be the ECM. I'm thinking about trying to find a used one.

****Update.....it's the timing chain. I'll be getting parts and starting taking it apart. I will be an easy job. There's a lot of room under the hood and under the vehical.******

Update

I took the old chain off and checked how far off the timing was. 3-4 teeth.
