Silly radio knob question

Have a 2003 Duramax and want to replace the on/off radio button in the middle of the volume ring. It is the push button, with the middle being the on/off and the volume control being the ring around it. Got the button from the dealer but not sure if you just pop out both, pry out, or if there is more to it. The new one has 2 little hooks on the end and seems to pop in but I don't want to bust up the radio and have a $400 or $500 repair due to a little button. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:eek7:

Re: Silly radio knob question

If the your radio looks like the ones that are used in the Malibu (new body style) or the Impala (2000-2004) the little center, which tends to chip off looking all white after usage, pops out with the whole button then pops in with the whole button. in other words if you grab the whole button and pull out to get both out then the middle will snap in after you put the outer ring first. Installation is the same. Hope this helps.
