egr; tuning
What are some advantages/disadvantages to blocking off the egr via a block off plate. Also, does anyone know of a shop or company that offers a reflash for the 1g rt-tt/vr4??

Re: egr; tuning
THere is no reflash. You a) should replace the caps, you b) can raise teh rev limit (only worthwhile if you are modded and drag race) c) run a piggyback for air/fuel/timing control d) replace it entirely with a standalone such as AEM EMS.
EGR, no power gains either way. advantages to blocking off: less crap to deal with when removing plenum, less carbon in intake disadvantages: obdII will throw a code without a resistor bypass, will lower fuel economy a bit Those are the major differences. The bypass resistor is in the FAQ, this topic has been heavily covered, so a search will reveal quite a bit. IMO I have obdII and it is getting removed...keep in mind it wont pass a visual inspection, but IMO the reduction of carbon in the intake, and the less crap in the engine bay/attached to the plenum, the better. Some will disagree, and this has been a highly debated subject. A search will help...but those are the basics...
