Heats up way too fast
Driving along today, noticed the engine heat up from 100-190 in about 2 minutes at idle. I can actually watch the needle move higher and higher. I figure it's the thermostat, I'll try that fix tomorrow since it's a cheap repair. Any other suggestions that yall may have on what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Heats up way too fast
I don't think it'd be that, every water pump I ever ran into makes a ton of noise when it's bad. It's an '02, are they electric on these engines? Sorry, most of my engine and car experience stems on building small and big-blocks for drag-race use. It seems to go from cold to 195 on the guage in the span of about 3 minutes and I haven't seen it go higher, course I haven't driven it enough to see if it'll go higher. I just bought it today and have been on two short runs, like gas-station and back kind of deal. Would it possibly be a relay for the fans, or should the water pump be looked at anyway? Hope there's enough info to go on, if yall need more please let me know.
