Thanks! I might not have gone this way without your feedback. The family is happy because the ride is much quieter than the Wranglers. The top of the rack is a little higher - I was waiting for the awful crunch as I pulled it in. Hope they last awhile.

I wish I could remember how many miles my mitsu had on the tires when I sold it. Pretty sure it was at least 30k and still had plenty of tread left. They have a UTOG rating of 440 so should go 50k at least.

I got a kick out of the overfed beagle comment! I have 3 little dogs myself; but way too small to even make it in with running boards - 2 are pom's, 3rd is a chihuahua.

Nice looking Jeep. So, you like the white wall out as well, huh?

Take it that you do your off-road excursions strictly in the jeep? I'm guessing with the rack and all, that's the vehicle you load your family/gear into more often?

Re: [Off topic] Jeep wheel thread

I was going to go blackout with Cragar Soft8s or some similar black steel wheel until I started pricing packages. Just couldn't justify that big an outlay when there was really nothing wrong with the factory wheels. So, OWL it was.

Yeah, since the oldest daughter is driving the Rodeo for work/school, the Jeep is the beachmobile. I got the rack so that I can put surfboards and other gear up top with the soft top up. Can't take a chance with the rain in summer. In winter, the soft top comes down and I'll probably take the basket off. I can just mount the boards on the sport bar and windshield. It's really versatile. It even gets as good or better mileage than the Rodeo.
