I have just gotten in to wanting to rebuild cars. My first project is my "86 RX-7 GXL. The only question I really have is "what's th big deal with rotary engines compared to standard piston engines?" I will admit I've never even known about rotary until this car. Any insight would be helpful.

The rotary is so ahead of it's time when developed, and still is, look at the new RX8 250 horses Renesis Rotary. Good luck with your project.:flash:

Yeah, rotaries are pretty cool. They're also pretty finicky, and pretty expensive to fix
I wouldn't recommend an RX7 as a first project, too many things have to be done just so with the motor... other than that, they are ass kicking little cars
