Fuel Filter

2001 SL SOHC. I went to saturnparts.com and they list the fuel filter at $75 and I found FRAM G9370 listed for $58. Those are hard prices to swallow for a fuel filter. I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere that was cheaper. Thanks for any info.

Re: Fuel Filter

fuel filters for the 98-02 1.9engines have a service interval of 100K, and also incorpurate the pressure regular into the filter.

Re: Fuel Filter

Thats good information to know. I have the uninformative Haynes manual and the interval that they suggest is 24 months or 30,000 miles.

Re: Fuel Filter

Fuel filter on these babies are also a b*tch to change. Mine is going on 200,000 miles on the original fuel filter because I haven't had the desire to fool with it yet. Actually, my dealership back in Texas didn't even do it because it was too much of a pain and so few people even needed it. If somebody came in and HAD to have it done, they outsourced it. Too much disassembly involved for a shop with only two mechanics and six or seven techs.

Re: Fuel Filter

I haven't changed mine yet, although I'm planning to soon.
A plugged filter will put a lot of strain on a fuel pump. And they're quite expensive.
