WD-40 as cleaner

Has anyone tried to use WD-40 on their dash to clean tape adhesive? Will it eat through the plastic dash? I tried isopropyl alcohol, but it doesn't clean it all the way.

Re: WD-40 as cleaner

WD40 is a lubricant/anti-sieze product. I dont think using it as a "goop remover" is a good idea, or even logical. Perhaps try some gunk off, or some other product that is designed to take off sticky messes...i know they sell them.

Note where it says, ''Removes all traces of duct tape'' so I think it will work just dont use a lot on it.

Re: WD-40 as cleaner

I googled and found that mayonnaise can remove adhesive too.

As for brake cleaner.. let me know what happens when you try it on your dash.

That's pointless. Just take a 120mm round, wire it up to your starter, and harness it over the spot you wish to remove. Start up the car and run...
