Can I Unplug The A/c Compressor

The title says it all on this post. After trying to think of a way to approach my ac woes I came to the conclusion that the summer is almost over and if my a/c was working I would have probably had it off anyway.

I do need to use the defroster feature without engaging the compressor though. Will I run into any computer issues if I disconect the electrical connector? I am hoping to avoid any engine lights of climate control erro messages.

Re: Can I Unplug The A/c Compressor

Just run the shorter belt to bypass the pump. I have been running my 95 this way for two years. I don't remember the number, but I know that I have posted it here several times. Do a search and you should find it.

Re: Can I Unplug The A/c Compressor

I Unplugged The Unit And Have No Problems. I Will Need To Get A New Belt Soon, The Compressor Turns Fairy Tough And I Am Sure It Will Sieze Sonner Or Later. I Saw A Post On Here At One Point With A Gates Belt Number. When I Went To Buy It No-one Could Reference The Part Number. Can Anyone Tell Me The Proper Number? Thanks.
