Trailer Towing

I have 97 gmc sierra 1500 z71. I have 21' travel trailer that I tow with this truck. With the trailer hooked up, the truck seems really, squishy (for lack of better words) in the rear when traveling down the road.

I am looking into some options for helping the truck out a little and improve the ride while traveling. I've considered 2500 rear leaf springs (not sure if they will fit) or some air shocks or air bags?? What are you guys using out there?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would recommend lift support bags, that way you can pump them up when you have a load on your truck and let the air out when you don't and you will not loose the ride. I run a set my self and they work great.

I think that your best bet is a Trailer Sway/Load Balancing/Load Distributing bar setup is what you should do.

It's pretty amazing, I can lift my rear tires right off the ground if I put enough lift into it

Likely your cheapest method as well, also gives you more advantages to just adjusting your shocks.
