Corvette C6-R kit details.....

After reading postings on the new kit on several forums, I got to looking at a few reference pictures. This is what I have observed. My opinon is Revell used pictures from the "show cars" as reference for this model.

1.) Rear marker lights: missing from kit, no decal or body molding. Reference pictures show side marker lights on all "race cars" and missing on the "show cars".

2.) Position lights: soft molding on kit, no decals. Would have to be painted or cut colored decal film. Remember, on GT1 cars the lights are green. The top light for 1st place, top 2 lights for 2nd place, all three lights for 3th place and no lights for 4th on down.

3.) Kline Tools decal: missing from decal sheet. This should be on the door panels. Reference pictures again show that it's missing from the "show cars" and on all the "race cars".

4.) Side Windows: missing from kit. Once again, the "show cars" didn't have them and the "race cars" do. Going to be a hard scratch build piece, there is a window vent at the rear of the window.

The good news is: ScaleMotorSport is working on a detail set for this car. They haven't released any information on what will be included in the set at this time. Also, Three Amigos Decals is suppose to be working on a fill-in decal sheet for this kit. It would include rear marker lights, kline tool decals and position lights.

One last thing, if you want to build a 06 car. There is one big difference between the 05 and 06 cars, the wheels!! They have gone back to the early C5-R style. The problem here is the old revell C5-R wheels are not as detailed as the current wheels in the kit. But, that's all in the eye of the beholder.

This would make a great model and something different at the same time.

Hmmm... I don't think so. The 2006 C6-R carries some new BBS, similar if not equal to those installed on the F430 GT. Bye: Robi

This is not surprising. The C5-R kit was wrong for the majority of cars it can be used for as well.

The C5-R wheels are not correct as they are 10 spoke BBS and the 2006 wheels are 7 spoke BBS
