Question 01 Jetta: Check Engine Light/Catalytic Converter?

I have a '01 Jetta. The check engine light was on, and it failed the emissions test (WI). Dealer fixed a temperater gauge (??) and reset the computer. Now I have passed the test. Dealer mentioned something about a service warranty extension to the catalytic converter, and to come back if I failed. I didn't fail, but now one week later, light is back on.

Any thoughts??

This car is a pain!

Re: 01 Jetta: Check Engine Light/Catalytic Converter?

I have had the same problem with my 01 jetta engine light came on replaced mass air flow sensor then light came on again replaced cat. light came on again and no solution...my advice sell the car before things really start to fall apart( also i think cta has extended warraty for 120,000 or 7 years)
