Arrow A little get up and go.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I own a 2002 Cavalier with the 2.2 (not the ecotec) and an auto transmission. I have around 300 bucks to spend. I was wondering what you guys think would be a good upgrade. The only mod i have done is get a k&n air filter ( lmao ). I dont want to damage my car in any way. Thanks for any input.

Lol. Thought you'd say that. Would the warm air and muffler increase the hp any?

Yes that would be a good CAI to get. With only $300 to spend you cant get too much for your car. (at least good quality parts) If you get that intake then I would suggest doing an exhaust afterwards so you can get the most out of the intake.

Thanks for the advice. Would I need to just get a cat-back, or get new headers, converter...etc? I'm really new.

Well first of all before people start ripping you a new arsehole you car has a header not headers. But to answer your question if you want to do it right then you will need to get an exhaust system from the header back. i.e header to straight pipe to muffler (not the best thing) or header to highflow-cat to muffler or header to highflow-cat to resonator to muffler.

Re: A little get up and go.

Get the car lowered first, Eibach pro kit drops it a small 1.6" and they go for like $250.

I read the title, but I figured I'd try and save him from looking like a clown with a fart can muffler on a stock high suspension car.

Re: A little get up and go.

Are you mechanically inclinded enough to do a little work? Howellautomotive sells a very nice set of Crane roller rockers for $224 and yeild around an 8hp gain. Get an intake and have yourself a ball. $300 really isn't too much to have fun with.
