93 3.8 Idling rough

Hi, I have a 93 3800 with a lot of miles on it (230000) which my parents gave to me. Now, I've been driving it for about a year after some initial work but it still idles rough after it warms up a bit. I don't get a CEL however when I first got the van I did read a TPS code (21 I think). As part of my earlier work I have changed ignition module, plugs and wires. Sometimes it will also disengage out of OD and TCC but cruise still works and no CEL.

My next course of action I was thinking would be some of the valves and sensors (starting with the cheapest - PCV valve).

Two questions:
1) My miserable Haynes manual says that the PCV valve is under a 'cover' with three bolts but I can't seem to locate it. Can someone give me a hint where this is?

2) Any thoughts or suggestions for the various issues I have described?

Thanks

I haven't found my PVC valve yet. I have a 93 3800 also.
I would change the TPS. Mine burnt out and I had a very rough engine and a lot of stalling. It had registered a code for it.

As for the trans I am not sure.

Welcome to AF, the pcv wouldn't cause your symptoms, the tps could in regard to the tcc an o/d issue, but the rough idle could have many sources. Fix what you know it needs now then see what happens. http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker...3d801bf6ec.jsp This is for the pcv location.

Re: 93 3.8 Idling rough

With your O/D and TCC sometimes not working, it's more than likley the solenoid that controls the TCC lock up. When this does not work, you probably don't get 4th???? Right?

Unfortunatly this is cheap for the part, but not for labour, I'm still saving up to have mine fixed (93 3800) I also have rough idel when warm. I have no codes so I'm still searching.
