Joseph, what're those? 17"s with 215/40/17's on em? The sidewall profile and stock ride height make the car look very awkward. Honestly I'm not a fan of the decals or wheels either, but at least I have the decency to explain my reasoning.

Anywho, don't let em discourage you. You're the one who drives it. you're the one who should like how it looks. So far as I'm concerned, anyone who doesn't like my car can eat my ass (to paint a nice mental image).

And just where is your car mate?
Or does your mommy only let you play with it if you've been a good boy and done all your home work?

That sort of behavior is not tolerated here at AF, either say something constructive, or dont say anything at all.

I happen to almost like the car.
The graphic, while not my cup of tea does suit the cars lines, and is not totaly extreme, the wheels for once also match the cars lines.
Unforunatly either the camera angle has exagerted it, or the car does need to be lowered a little bit. At the moment it looks like your all set up to go rock hopping somewhere.

Keep at it, and don't let the little kids with match box cars to carry thier barbie dolls around in worry you.

Not the most updated, but here are some of mine (Yeah I know it's similar):

My horribly mismatched engine compartment:

Soon it will look very different. I'll post pics in a week or two.

Another Lancer that needs lowering!

The car actualy looks more like the Japanese Cedric? which is a slightly larger Lancer, and the car the EVO VII and VIII is based on.
This wouldnt surpise me, as the lancer sold in Japan Europe and Asia Pasfic might be considered a bit small for the US market.

Its just shame to see that little weiny engine in the frount, it dosnt look they have changed anything on it since the late 80s.

The Cedia? Same chassis, different everything else.

The engine's alright for what it is. It's been changed a bit, but you can't see the different bore, stroke and displacement from the 4g93's of the US Mirage. The only problem is our internals are dreafully fragile. The con rods are like pencils and the pistons crack very easily under heavy pressure (NOS or forced induction over something like 8-9psi) due to their extremely narrow ring lands. I'm working (though admittedly not very hard cuz I'm strapped for cash at the moment) on sourcing a 4g93E or 4g93T for parts, including DOHC head, belts, ECU etc. for a Mitsubishi hybrid engine. All the benefits of a 2.0 liter with the dual overhead cams of the DOHC variant 4g93. Though it may actually be easier just to stroke the 4g93 if I can find one thra's transversely mounted with tranny for LHD (talk about a rare Mitsubishi engine ).

As for the ride height...gonna be a few months before I can afford the Tein SS Coilovers and accompanying camber plates, but I assure you they're on my spreadsheet of upcoming mods (at number 3 after clutch and LSD right now). I should have Wilwood brakes up front in a month or two as well. Practicality and cost are going out the window here. This car's really a project for me (as well as my mechanic for the stuff I'm not experienced enough to do myself). Though I can't say I think I'll ever complete it to the point I'd like to, I do intend to hit low 12's or file bankruptcy before I stop building her.

Thats it!

So the US Lancer is actualy a Cedia, with what looks like last model Lancer engine and running gear, very interesting, and sounds like dodgy cost cutting on behalf of Mistsi US at the cost of its customers.

The few Cedias Iv seen here in NZ (used Jap imports) have had GDI engines in them, which I believe are all Twin cams.

Heres the NZ Lancer: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.nz/lancer.html we get a pretty basic version of the Japanese Lancer with only one engine choice. Looks to be the same as your engine, only its faceing the other way, this must mean the US Lancer engines spin the wrong way, i.e. the same way as all the old Honda engines did. So I can now see exactly why swapping a Japanese spec engine in is so damn hard.
You poor bastards, you really did get screwed out of the good stuff.

oh, and speaking of the good stuff: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.nz/p...ance_cars.html
Its about US$30,000
