No OBD codes

I have a 2001 Grand Prix it started jerking while driving at times the check light is on we took it to Auto Zone they put the code reader on it an said it would not work!!! So I went an bought an actron OBDll code reader hooked it up nothing happens no code nothing.can any body help with this one

Welcome to AF.

Were you getting power to the Actron scanner and did it respond by giving no codes?

I am sapose to be getting power from the plug under dash.and it does nothing the screen is blank

Yes, the scanner should use power off the data link port. I'd test the scanner on another odb-ii car first if you have not already done that. I recall 12 volts to the data link port feeding off the fuse for the cigarette lighter so check to make sure it is not blown.

No it does nothing it should be getting power from plug

Thank you I was wondering if there was a fuse for this or not with two different code readers not working I'll check lighter

Fuse was gone completly put fuse in got a code 0102 now need to get chiltons manual to find out what MAF an VAF are Thanks again

You're welcome.

Thats sorta good news. Which engine do you have? P0102 means the PCM module has detected the MAF sensor is not generating the right frequency and will need replacement.
