For 1G guys: pop-up "projector" style lights on E-Bay

The closest thing to these are the ridiculously expensive "4-Lights kit" that Kaze Aerocraft makes. I just e-mailed the seller asking him if the lights had some sort of film with two holes cut-out on them, or if he genuinely replaced the stock housing with circular projector-style pop-ups.

...wow....yea, if thats the "real deal" and not just something you stick on your headlight, thats definitely worth a shot. Let me know what the guy says when/if he responds to your email.

Sure thing. Seems like an excellent buy for 70 odd bucks, shipped to your door. As long as there's no half-assed "sticker with two holes" business, lol.

PS, you seen this absolutely mouth-watering bumper yet?

I don't know, it's just preference...I've always thought the 1Gs would look bomb with a 99 front bumper, and now someone finally went ahead with it. I just love pop-up lights, and that's why I never considered doing a conversion, but this new bumper looks amazing.

i've seen those headlight before on ebay. IIRC, those are just foglights mounted in the place of real headlights. they only look like projectors, but they're actually foglights. if this is the case, and i'm sure it is, then the light output will be MUCH MUCH less than the stock headlamps. it might look cooler (simply b/c its different), but its effectively a downgrade, not an upgrade.

other 1st gen headlight options?

- H4 conversion http://www.3sx.com/store/comersus_vi...?idProduct=617

- HID kit (H4 conversion required)

- HID retrofit (OEM HID projectors from another vehicle, fitted into the place of the stock headlamps). http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...6&postcount=12

Yea, i was drooling over that a few weeks ago. 3kvr4's right though, definitely needs a FMIC in there. or, at the risk of sounding ricey, some mesh. The plastic-looking grates in the sides remind me of a Porsche Cayman kinda...http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/phot...0,0/photo.aspx

I just went through your thread, and wow! Those lights look really cool, good job on them. The E-Bay one's might well be foglights, I never thought of that...why else would they be so cheap?

I guess, don't get me wrong, I think it looks great but I love the 1st gen Stealth bumper. It is so much more aggressive.

Darn it. I messaged a member who had left negative feedback for the guy, asking him about how he liked his lights. He replied saying that they were basically just painted circles in the stock lights....good thing I checked.

Re: For 1G guys: pop-up "projector" style lights on E-Bay

if you have TT,you really don't need that.there is a switch on the bottom of fog light switch.press that and the head light will pup up and it stays like that, then you can open the hood and lower the head lights as much as you want.i won't turn inside till you press that switch again.

I'm not sure what that has to do with any of the above, but ok!

I have an SL, and I have that switch too. You talking about the sleepy eyes mod?
